The Wekiva High School Band Program is essential to the spirit of Wekiva High School and the community. Our band program is committed to achieving excellence in arts and education. We strive to provide a positive learning environment that contributes to academic success, teaches teamwork and cooperation, promotes healthy competition, and enhances pride in self and community.

Our band students always look forward to reaching new heights in musicianship and performance opportunities each new school year. Some upcoming opportunities include:

• FBA Marching Band Music Performance Assessments Festival
• Florida Blue Battle of Bands (Orlando, FL)
• Florida A&M University Wind Band Festival (Tallahassee, FL)
• State Concert Band Music Performance Assessments Festival

None of the opportunities mentioned, nor others, will be possible without the support of parents, family, friends, the school, and the community. It is no secret that funding for music programs across the country has been an issue in recent years, and less than 5% of our funding comes from the school district. With a continued goal of “Going from Great to Greater,” our band program relies on fundraisers, ad sales, donations, and sponsorships to keep growing. To meet our goal, the WHS Band Program is in dire need of your financial support to purchase instruments, band warm-ups, music equipment, guest clinicians, scholarships, field trips, performance transportation, music supplies, and other essential items.

We appeal to your generosity and sense of concern to provide us with a donation, on behalf of our program and the students we serve, for many of them need help to participate due to economic restrictions. Your donation or sponsorship will provide the funds needed to fully support the WHS Band Program. The additional support you give to the WHS Band Program is what will make our program stand out in the community and across the state.
