This privacy Policy (“Policy”) applies to https://www.WekivaBand.com (“the Website), and the band program for Wekiva High School (WHSBP) and governs data collection and usage. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to WHSBP include the Website. WHSBP website is a news and information and e-commerce site. By using WHSBP’s website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

We do not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. WHSBP does not sell, rent, or lease its customer lists to third parties.

Right to Deletion

Children Under Thirteen

WHSBP does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, you must ask your parent or guardian for permission to use this website.

Email Communications

From time to time, WHSBP may contact you via email for the purpose of providing announcements, promotional offers, alerts, confirmations, surveys, and/or other general communication. In order to improve our services, we may receive a notification when you open an email from WHSBP or click on a link therein.

If you would like to stop receiving marketing or promotional communications via email from WHSBP, you may opt out of such communication by either selecting the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send through MailChimp or sending a request to unsubscribe to info@wekivaband.com.

WHSBP reserves the right to change this Policy from time to time. For example, when there are changes to out services, changes in our data protection practices, or changes in the law. Additional Information about Mr. Petty

Mr. Jonte’ Petty, is the Director of Bands at Wekiva High School. His responsibilities in the Department of Music include teaching Instrumental Music and keyboarding. Additionally, he conducts the Marching & Pep Bands, Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Band.

Mr. Petty is native of Pahokee, Florida where he graduated from Pahokee Middle/Senior High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in music education from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida, where he was a conducting student of Dr. Julian E. White and Dr. Shelby Chipman. He recently received his master’s degree in music education from University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.

Prior to his appointment at Wekiva High School, he taught music at Plantation High School in Plantation, Florida. His bands consistently earned high ratings at MPA festivals. Through a commitment to musical endeavors that extends beyond the classroom, students in the program participates in all-county, all-state, FSU’s Tri-state, and all national ensemble events. In 2019 the plantation high school wind ensemble under the direction of Mr. Jonte’ Petty received an invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City. In addition, the plantation high school band has become known throughout the district, state, and country for all its outstanding accomplishments.

Mr. Petty is a member of the Florida Bandmasters Association, Florida Music Educators Association, The National Association for Music Education, Music Educators National Conference, FMEA Multi-Cultural Network, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, St. John Missionary Baptist Church, United States Bowling Association, and Founding Vice President of the Palm Beach Band Directors Coalition. Mr. Petty has coordinated numerous band festivals and had the pleasure of working with Steve Rivero, Dr. Robert Carnochan, Willie Pyfrom, Earnest Brown, Richard Clary, and Patrick Dunnigan.

Mr. Petty currently serves as guest conductor, clinician, adjudicator, professor, and lecturer for middle and high school bands, summer band camps and clinics working with some of the finest music programs in the United States for district, state festivals, solo and ensembles, and various concert performances resulting with superior ratings in Marching and Concert Festivals.

As an educator, Jonte’ Petty believes that music to him is much more than just an extracurricular activity. It is an opportunity for him as their mentor, teacher, coach, and parent to touch the lives of children by allowing them to see the bigger picture of the world through performances and trips. It is an opportunity to influence and help his students reach a higher consciousness for the impact that they can make on their community and world.
